NAEMSP president discusses impact of ET3 model
Our co-hosts sit down with the NAEMSP president to discuss how the new reimbursement model will transform all aspects of the industry.
In this episode of Inside EMS, co-hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson are joined by Dr. David Tan, president of the National Association of EMS Physicians. The discussion focuses on the new Emergency Treat, Triage and Transport (ET3) payment model announced earlier this month.
Dr. Tan shares his opinion regarding how medical directors need to prepare their providers, how reimbursements will change and what the new model means for education requirements across the industry. The ET3 model will allow EMS agencies to bill for treat and release, as well as for transporting to alternative destinations and utilizing community paramedicine programs.
